Finding a Personality for a Subversive Market
Hakt Radio is an innovative application that searches the airwaves/internet streams, detects what music is playing right now and delivers to your web app or mobile application. The Hakt team discussed what the audience may look like, who would appreciate the app, but was also different enough from the crowded music player space. The result was to target the subversive, tech savvy population under the age of 28. I created a brand that held both a technology feel and invoked a hacker-ish/subversive mentality. This imagery folded over into the applications and marketing.
The result was very well received, gaining a very decent user base and attracting independent musicians who wanted to launch on the platform first.
