Visualizing the Product Roadmap

On this very special project, I walked a group of executives through my patented process of discovery. Visually drawing through a process to discover the path in which a new user would engage with the platform.

Walking the team through the process as a new user, picturing them being lead down the “optimal” path that leads to both the necessary actions required of the platform and the route that would give the user the tools for longevity on the platform.

This process, being a visual, artistic format engages the meeting and focuses them on agreeing on the story being told. They can see it unfold, they can agree or disagree based on what everyone is looking at. This accomplishes a unification of discussion and inclusion in the process.

Through this process we created three steps with unanimous consensus.

Step one, simple path. Easy, no frills basic path.
Step two, storyboard. Very descriptive flow that spells out the specifics.
Step three, documented. Create visually compelling document that is a user story explaining the new roadmap and how it will affect users.
